Healthy trees with vigor are more resistant against pests and disease. Stress in trees is more soil related than anything. It is difficult to view the root zone or do much about soil composition. The air spade is a tool used to explode clay soils without damaging root tissue. Soil compositon and PH level can be altered. Aerating and radial trenching can be achieved without any harm to delicate root tissue.
